Welcome to the Homer Community Jail. Our facility is a seven bed, temporary housing detention facility owned and operated by The City of Homer, which under state contract, provides criminal detention services to the State of Alaska. The jail is operated 24 hours per day, 365 days per year. The primary purpose of the Homer Community Jail is to provide short term housing to all persons arrested on state criminal charges, pending their arraignments, released on bail, or transferred to larger state facilities. Additionally, the facility provides detention services for persons serving short term misdemeanor sentences (usually limited to 10 days)
